Novel Coronavirus - Latest Information

Health authorities are closely monitoring the outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus (2019-nCoV) first identified in Wuhan, China.

NSW Health is urging people who have recently returned from Wuhan or have been in contact with a confirmed case of novel coronavirus infection to ensure they are aware of the of novel coronavirus infection symptoms and contact their GP or local emergency department if symptoms develop within 14 days.

NSW Health has a dedicated coronavirus site which contains the latest updates, clinical guidance, advice for GPs and practice resources.

The Australian Government Department of Health's coronavirus site provides information for the community and public health units.

The RACGP website also includes regularly updated information and specific advice for GPs.

The Hunter New England HealthPathways team have worked in collaboration with the HNE Public Health unit to develop the Novel Coronavirus pathway. As this is a rapidly evolving issue the Public Health Team and GP Clinical Editors have agreed to provide daily updates to the pathway to ensure the most current information is made available to our local clinicians.   Click here to access the Novel Coronavirus pathway.


PHN SUPPORT FOR GENERAL PRACTICE
